GRIT TYPE
FUNCTION
#60 - #80
For heavy sanding, stripping, and roughing up the surface
#100 - #120
For smoothing of the surface, removing smaller imperfections, and removing marks. This grit is commonly used for most projects. In fact, it's best to start with this grit and move up if necessary.
#150
Fine sandpaper for a final sanding pass before finishing. Fine grits like this are all used once the majority of the sanding is done.
#240
Very fine grit sandpaper for sanding between coats of stain or sealer. For smoothing of the surface, removing smaller imperfections, and removing marks. This grit is commonly used for most projects. In fact, it's best to start with this grit and move up if necessary.

TIP:

It's tempting to buy coarse 60 or 80-grit paper to speed up the sanding job. However, because modern lightweight joint compound is so soft, heavier grit sandpaper is not a necessity. Coarse-grit paper may have a tendency to leave undesirable sanding marks. We recommend 120-grit or 150-grit paper for the best results.

What Our Customers Are Saying

The shoulder pad does a fair job dispersing the weight and really saves your shoulder 4/5 stars I did notice that it runs a bit long on the buckle side, maybe if they eliminated the second buckle and had just one I could adjust it to my size fully.  - Oliver
